ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE Vacuums, spot clean, disinfect and clean all areas of the hospital. Collects and transports trash, cleans and relines trash containers with plastic bags. Cleans and sanitizes tops of windows, door frames and other high places. Clean and sanitize induction units, light fixtures, etc. Washes and sanitizes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap and toilet paper. Dusts, cleans, sanitizes and polishes furniture including beds. Completes all cleaning and preparation of patient rooms for new occupants or concurrent cleaning and sanitizing procedures for rooms with patients. Spot clean walls, windows, doors, ceilings between scheduled washings, wash and sanitize as scheduled. Keeps walks and entryways free of snow and debris. Adheres to hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, safe, environmental, infection control and Quality assurance program. Maintain all required records, reports, statistics etc. Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attend meetings as required. Follow all Hospital safety standards and participate in Safety training. Responsible for communicating and applying Compliance Program standards, procedures and goals. Actively participate in team oriented decision-making process. Is a team player, willing to be flexible and open to other’s ideas. Performs other duties as directed by a proper authority as indicated in an approved Hospital policy
