About The Position

Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting and sanitizing furniture, washing windows, sweeping and scrubbing floors, vacuuming carpets, and maintaining restrooms. The role also involves heavy contact with cleaning chemicals and requires the ability to prioritize assignments and operate cleaning equipment. The work environment can be stressful and fast-paced, with exposure to various conditions.

Requirements

  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred: One year experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Washes windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, and refinishes floors.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Re-stocks restrooms and replaces light bulbs.
  • Reports repairs and maintains equipment cleanliness.
  • Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, and changing sharps containers.
  • Keeps a safe working environment and complies with infection control guidelines.
  • Attends required in-service education and training classes.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
