Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the Environmental Services Technician II performs daily cleaning of patient rooms and ancillary areas according to departmental and corporate standards. This includes all isolation/terminal cleaning of rooms, including those with negative pressure/airborne precautions, and cleaning of any equipment used in patient rooms. The role ensures customer service quality standards are achieved and maintained by the Environmental Services Department. The technician is also responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly housekeeping cart and equipment, safely utilizing and mixing cleaning chemicals, and ensuring all bottled chemicals are labeled. They maintain adequate supplies in assigned areas, remove and replace full sharps containers, and may access secured medication storage for job-related functions. The position requires providing a positive customer service-minded environment, teamwork, personal enthusiasm, pride in work, and an efficient work attitude. Daily communication with the assigned manager is essential to exchange information, resolve concerns, and maintain customer service standards. The technician must also observe and report any equipment, furniture, fixtures, carpet, curtains, and walls in need of repair, and adhere to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
