About The Position

One of the region's largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute's world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. Click here to learn more about Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Position Summary The Environmental Services Technician ll is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. Responsible for ensuring daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughout within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years experience in Healthcare support services and/or environmental services, hospitality, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, and ancillary areasto include, but notlimited to, bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed and any other areas that may require attention using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
  • Accesses and uses all departmentrelated technology systems such as, but not limited to, the Bed Management systems.
  • Replenishessupplies as needed, removes bio-medical waste, trash, and soiled linen asrequired daily and changes cubicle/window curtains as needed.
  • Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards utilizing the approved proceduresfor patient room cleaning to include Bed Management systems where applicable.
  • Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing.
