About The Position

Under general direction, provides for the mission and vision of the center through actions, attitude, and personal conduct as a team member of the department, an employee of the center, and a contributor to the health and wellbeing of the patients we service; to provide the duties outlined in this job description to the best of abilities; and to strive for excellent service to our customers.

Requirements

  • Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to do work on their own with normal supervision.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand labels and manuals.
  • Has general knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental and Materials departments.
  • Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors when entering their room.
  • Reports safety hazards to safety officer and manager as appropriate.
  • Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
  • Promote high standards of performance by always exhibiting compassion and professionalism and by being responsible for your actions, attitude and body language.
  • Required to complete annual education.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Use and maintain equipment properly.
  • Always observe safety precautions.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical area, waiting area, lobby, lounge, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
  • Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Cleans and maintains carpet, laminate, and tiled floors.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives.
  • Follow all departmental and center policies.
  • Request clarification and guidance if needed.
  • Manage work time, clock in and out as scheduled, complete assignments within the scheduled timeframe, and minimize changes in the departmental work schedule.
  • Required to attend all mandatory meetings.
