About The Position

The Environmental Services Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various areas including offices, break rooms, conference rooms, public areas, and patient care areas. This role is essential for ensuring a safe and sanitary environment, particularly within the Sheriff's Office Detention facility and Work Release facilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Emptying trash
• High dusting vents, ledges, and light fixtures
• Disinfecting horizontal surfaces and counter tops
• Spot cleaning walls and interior windows
• Damp wiping high touch areas, toilets, sinks, and water fountains
• Disinfecting handrails, benches, chairs, entrance doors, and windows
• Dry and wet mopping hard surfaced floors
• Vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets
• Restocking paper products and hand soap dispensers
• Following all safety and accident prevention practices
• Handling wastes and recyclables properly
• Communicating effectively in oral and written forms
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Maintaining regular attendance during scheduled shifts
