About The Position

The position at The Christ Hospital involves providing a clean, safe, sanitary, and appealing environment. The role requires adherence to infection control procedures, proper cleaning techniques, and customer service interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. The staff member will be responsible for cleaning patient rooms, non-patient areas, and ensuring that all cleaning is done to the satisfaction of patients and hospital standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year of working experience preferred, but not required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
  • Basic customer service skills preferred, but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • CHEST certification within 1 year preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean patient areas daily with approved germicides and cleaning chemicals.
  • Use wet floor signs or other caution alerts where slippery or hazardous conditions may exist.
  • Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing and aseptic techniques.
  • Work with other hospital staff to ensure a positive hospital experience.
  • Follow department policies regarding equipment placement and cleanliness.
  • Clean patient rooms daily using proper chemicals and procedures.
  • Clean non-patient areas such as nurses' stations, offices, public waiting rooms, and restrooms.
  • Terminally clean patient rooms upon discharge to prepare for new admissions.
  • Interact daily with patients, visitors, and staff to promote a service attitude.
  • Ensure rooms are cleaned to patients' satisfaction.
  • Use scripting to inquire if there is anything else that can be done for the patient.
  • Leave a housekeeper's note in each room with the housekeeper's name and department phone number.
  • Leave a tent card with name and a hospital packet in every patient room upon discharge cleaning.
  • Follow hospital policy and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Complete annual testing on Safety and Confidentiality.
  • Learn and use MS Office Outlook for emails.
  • Take and pass required annual Stat Tests.
  • Learn the NaviCare system for bed tracking.
