About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV's, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. Observes all isolation procedures and Infection Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens. Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount of supplies. Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer. Hangs cubicles/drapes according to department policy. Special project assignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing, etc.), and post informational signs. Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt. Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles when needed. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt. Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area. Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identify various bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPIC and removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager call from supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems to supervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available. Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and places in proper containers/areas. Provides training as needed by the department. Adheres to all applicable regulations and standards.Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of all waste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOT Certification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste. Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt Able to perform all duties and responsibilities as outlined in job description; including project work. Ability to use all equipment. Ability to perform hard surface, carpet and upholstery care, construction cleanup and trash removal. Performs inspections. Knowledge of AV equipment and room set-ups. Assists with scheduling and project work. Assists with supplies. Completes unit checks and daily shift reports. Recommends training topics. Ability to resolve conflicts. Assist with waste management and hazardous spill cleanup. Willing and able to work float in all areas including specialized areas such as, ICU, OB, OR and ED. Shares knowledge and provides support to other partners. Will train partners. Pass 95%of ATP testing.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum six(6) months as EVS Tech 1 or Tech 2
  • C.H.E.S.T. Certification within 90 days if promoted from Level 1
  • Effectively performs scheduled floor cleaning, which includes stripping, scrubbing, finishing, shampooing, and extracting in a timely manner (includes working other shifts for annual floor maintenance) following all unit specific guidelines giving attention to detailed areas such as baseboards, corners, carpet stains, etc. Clean equipment after use.
  • Performs spot cleaning of carpets and carpet bonneting, extraction of carpet, burnishing, and wet/dry vacuum.
  • Operates, understands, and maintains all equipment (i.e. extractors, vacuums, wet vac, burnisher, flatbed, etc.) in a safe and professional manner. Clean equipment after use and ensure batteries are charged.
