This position involves working under the supervision of the Environmental Services/Assistant Director/Supervisors to perform a wide variety of highly demanding physical activities aimed at maintaining the hospital in a clean, sanitary, organized, and attractive condition for patients, employees, and visitors. The role includes cleaning and restocking all carts and equipment at the end of the shift, as well as performing assigned cleaning duties according to department policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include dust mopping, wet mopping, buffing floors using automatic equipment, vacuuming carpets, moving furniture and equipment as needed, stripping and resurfacing hard floors, shampooing, bonnet buffing, and extracting carpets. The position requires loading, unloading, and transporting furniture, equipment, and trash cans, as well as cleaning outside trash areas, sweeping entrances, and washing windows. Additional tasks include cleaning walls, vents, furnishings, fixtures, ceilings, and other surfaces as directed, reporting any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to a supervisor, collecting, transporting, and storing infectious waste materials, and collecting and transporting soiled linen throughout the facility to deliver to the Laundry.
