Responsible for cleaning and disinfection, of patient care areas including but not limited to daily occupied and discharge/transfer, clinical, ancillary, support services; cleansing not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials, removing linens, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and/or patient rooms, cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, wet mopping and other similar duties. Maintain assigned equipment/cleaning carts for cleanliness and have repairs made as needed. Keeps stock and restocks of supplies and equipment as needed. Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper wasted streams handling (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous). Take corrective action for unsatisfactory cleanliness when observed in any area of the hospital, i.e., removing litter in public areas. Utilize bed tracking system (EPIC or other system) to identify cleaning needs; respond to pager or overhead pages, and assist in cleaning of emergency spills, observed or upon request. Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA) Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
