Under general supervision, the Environment Services (EVS) Tech is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in Cheyenne Regional Medical Center's (CRMC) facilities. The position involves ensuring the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors, and staff by providing a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others. The EVS Tech utilizes proper infection control practices and uses chemicals and equipment safely to ensure no harm to self, other individuals, or the environment.

  • Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures.
  • Empty trash containers and remove all trash.
  • Plan the completion of daily cleaning tasks.
  • Restock and replenish service carts and supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation which may include sign in and out sheets, room cleaning checklists, etc.
  • May perform special projects such as floor care, window washing, wall washing, removing heavily soiled items or furnishings, etc.
  • Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Meet or exceed goals for customer service satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone, radio, pager, and verbally.
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for dilution and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Flexible and able to work diverse shifts which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Able to walk/stand for 8 or more hours per shift.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations.
  • Six (6) or more months of customer service experience.
  • Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
  • 403(b) with 4% employer match.
