  • Supervises direct reports and oversees technical work of environmental staff.
  • Conducts salary planning for direct reports; assigns/manages workload of technical staff; reviews performance of technical staff; creates and implements program improvements; provides support through coaching, mentoring, and staff development.
  • Reviews and provides technical expertise/guidance on environmental documents including: CEQA/NEPA documents, permit applications, environmental components of project documents (project execution plans, permit matrices, complex scheduling matrices, budget forecasts, environmental analyses, environmental review documents, etc.).
  • Responsible for administrative record and review process of required regulatory documents, including reviews by subject matter experts, construction, operations, SoCalGas legal departments, and executives.
  • May be called upon to testify as an expert witness at agency hearings related to compliance.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of environmental permitting strategies and pathways for complex projects.
  • Supervises coordination with internal and external stakeholders to avoid delays, obtain permits, and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Develops contracts for and manages the work of consultants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
