About The Position

The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for the management of the departmental responsibilities as they apply for the overall philosophy and objectives of St. Luke’s Hospital. Foremost among these responsibilities are the development, implementation, and direction of departmental programs and staffing to provide for outstanding delivery of service to St. Luke’s Hospital. The position is one of five positions reporting to the Environmental Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • One to two years of experience in Environmental Services or service-related leadership in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work well with customers, coworkers, and direct reports.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative, courteous, and dependable working performance.
  • Possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with hospital and department regulations for federally funded healthcare programs.
  • Complete hospital-wide orientation and annual competencies.
  • Maintain departmental compliance with all regulatory/accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitate orientation, in-service, and continuing education programming for staff development.
  • Collaborate with hospital and departmental staff to provide education opportunities.
  • Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
  • Oversee timely completion of cleaning of rooms and assure a sanitary environment.
  • Coordinate work of associates in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Supervise use of chemicals, tools, and equipment for safety.
  • Oversee staffing to ensure operations within established budget guidelines.
  • Conduct personnel functions including hiring and counseling.
  • Create and foster an environment of growth and development.
  • Conduct monthly inspections to monitor quality and initiate work requests for repairs.
