About The Position

The Environmental Services Staff maintain the general appearance and cleanliness of the facility by cleaning and sanitizing rooms, floors, beds, waiting areas, restrooms and all needs of the hospital or clinic facilities. This position meets and maintains sanitary requirements as directed by hospital regulations and responds to environmental services needs from patients, visitors and staff while using appropriate actions to alleviate known and potential hazards. All Environmental Services Staff display a willingness to learn and follow Teton Valley Health Care policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Maintains knowledge and understanding of hospital authorized chemicals, their use, and proper safety precautions pertaining to each chemical.
Cleans occupied patient rooms, discharged rooms, offices, lounges, waiting rooms, and all other hospital areas as directed or needed.
Maintains knowledge of how to respond to each Hospital Emergency Code.
Effectively communicates with all hospital staff and employees.
Empties trash cans and ensures garbage and bio hazard waste is properly disposed of, using required proper techniques as needed.
Washes walls, furniture, and equipment while utilizing cleaning detergents and utensils to ensure a clean Hospital Environment.
Follows daily cleaning schedule of facility and responds accordingly to unexpected emergent needs.
Completes daily duties and cleaning of assigned areas efficiently and in a timely manner.
Restocks linen carts, monitors linen usage, and ensures an adequate supply of linen remains stocked in each assigned area.
Collects, washes, folds, and repairs all laundry daily.
Ensures OR linens are kept in good condition and stored properly
Utilizes proper hand washing and hand hygiene procedures.
Maintains knowledge of overall function of the Environmental Services Department and keeps all charts current.
Reports unsafe equipment and utilizes "Wet Floor" signage as appropriate.
