About The Position

The Environmental Services & Resource Operations Specialist is a vital member of the Operations Team who provides consistent and mission-driven support to ensure clean, functional, and well-organized environments across reStart Inc.’s shared spaces. This role is responsible for environmental upkeep, donation room organization, and operational readiness in collaboration with the Operations Manager. The specialist contributes to resource flow, facility care, and team-wide service delivery—all while promoting trauma-informed practices and upholding the dignity of every person we serve. This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented approach and a commitment to supporting equitable access to resources.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in facilities maintenance, environmental services, or nonprofit operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks safely.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and dependability in dynamic settings.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and a commitment to serving diverse communities with respect and empathy.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in donation processing, logistics, or inventory support is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning, disinfecting, and organization of shared program, residential, and administrative spaces.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of key areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functional use.
  • Prepare spaces for internal events, staff gatherings, and volunteer activities as directed by Operations leadership.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning, sanitation, and supply closets as needed.
  • Identify and report facilities-related needs promptly to the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain the donation room in a clean, orderly, and accessible condition that supports team efficiency.
  • Receive, sort, label, and store in-kind donations in accordance with internal standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all items are safe, clean, and appropriate for use.
  • Track supply levels of high-need items and communicate inventory trends to the Operations Manager.
  • Support donation preparation for seasonal events, community drives, and program distribution needs.
  • Serve as a reliable and responsive support to the Operations Manager across logistics, donation flow, and space readiness.
  • Assist with coordinating set-up and breakdown for donation drop-offs and internal resource distribution.
  • Provide timely support during periods of increased need, such as high-volume donation seasons or agency-wide events
  • Foster positive relationships with team members across departments to support smooth operations and shared goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving operational effectiveness.
  • Respond promptly and respectfully to requests for support from other internal teams, as assigned.
