About The Position

Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff by providing deep cleaning services. Transports patients and supplies as needed. Provides relief for Environmental Services Associates. Assists with supplying/removing linen supplies, medical waste, and chemotherapy waste.

Requirements

• High School diploma and extensive experience in all aspects of Environmental Services Procedures preferred.
• One to two years in a health care setting preferred.
• Ability to perform special tasks including operation of equipment necessary for maintaining all types of floor surfaces.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, and climb stairs and ladders without restriction.
• Ability to lift between 40-80 pounds using good body mechanics.
• Must be able to push/pull heavy equipment, beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting including medical waste, hazardous waste, and the risk of needle punctures.
• Meets all safety requirements as required by the Medical Center.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability and tact creating a favorable image in relationship to the supported department and the Medical Center as a whole.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships across all areas of responsibility.
• Demonstrates commitment to the #Team Spirit,# customer relations and all of the basic concepts of total quality atmosphere.
• Requires timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including physicians, patients, families, and co-workers.
