Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Environmental Services leadership team in the role of Environmental Services Manager. This position is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, administration, and management of policies and programs for the Indiana University Health Arnett covering the overall operation of environmental service functional areas including the hospital, clinics, support service buildings and their grounds. The position manages all functions necessary to maintain a clean, sanitary, attractive, safe and orderly condition for patients, staff and customers. The position will work with their management team to establish standards, work methods and schedules to ensure exemplary service for all areas of the facilities. Accountable for compliance with regulatory standards for each governing body (Dept of Health, HFAP, CMMS, OSHA, etc.). Performs quality inspections for all areas and initiates changes to correct any deficiencies. This position is responsible for providing managerial decision making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources. Establishes and assists in the ongoing development, implementation and enforcement of Policy and Procedures as they relate to the Environmental Services Department and Environment of Care (EC) Division 2 Hazardous Materials and Waste for the IUHA system. This position is also responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems. Accountable for driving preeminence throughout the assigned areas. Participates in the strategic planning and attainment of goals for environmental services and facilities for the organization. This position reports to the Director of Facilities, Planning and Operations and has accountability to the Director of EOC/EM. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Bachelors degree in business or a related field preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member. Demonstrates leadership skills (inspiring, problem solving, creativity, communication across multiple organizations, executing). Strong communication (both verbal and written) and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees and management. Knowledge of computer operation. Knowledge of program development and implementation Ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources. Experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers. Superior people management and leadership competencies with proven problem resolution and facilitation skills. Ability to pioneer and innovate effective quality improvement initiatives that reflect on the corporate scorecard. Ability to apply the organization personnel policies and procedures. Interpersonal; negotiation, including problem solving and analytical skills, presentation skills; and public speaking skills with the ability to lead groups and programs. Strong customer service skills. Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships. Ability to facilitate and lead work groups. Ability to take initiative and meet objectives. Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement. Knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines. Knowledge of state and federal laws relative to assigned area.
