Requirements

  • Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge. Minimum 2 years prior Environmental Services experience required, with demonstrated leadership abilities and progressive supervisory skills.
  • Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Develop and manage budget effectively. Manage program resources to ensure they are used efficiently and appropriately.
  • Source, hire, supervise, monitor, evaluate and provide direction to direct reports, as needed.
  • Provide professional growth and development; develop and communicate goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and provide constructive feedback; conduct annual performance evaluation.
  • Requires knowledge of state and federal regulations for environmental services, specifically Housekeeping and Laundry; specifically requires knowledge of cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate cleanliness of the facilities on a daily basis.
  • Inspect rooms and buildings to determine that environmental care standards are maintained.
  • Assist supervisors in determining staffing levels and assignments throughout the campus on a daily basis.
  • Lead the interview process for selection of new employees; provide mentor for new employees.
  • Monitor infection control practices followed by staff.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and monitor staff in these areas daily.
  • Maintain manuals and instructions for housekeeping policies and procedures to include training of new employees and adherence to Housekeeping and Laundry procedures.
  • Remain knowledgeable of and adhere to residents’ rights; maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Demonstrate use of new equipment and methods.
