Environmental Services Manager
About The Position
The EVS Manager oversees the Environmental Services (EVS) Department, ensuring all public areas, back-of-house spaces, and operational zones are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position manages daily operations, supervises staff across multiple shifts, monitors inventory and supply usage, and ensures adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards. The EVS Manager supports onboarding and training, maintains accurate records, and plays a key role in promoting service excellence and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and collaborates with the Engineering Department and other departments to support a 24-hour casino operation. This position will report directly to the Director of Facilities.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and team management skills; able to supervise and motivate a diverse workforce across multiple shifts.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and applicable health and safety regulations.
- Skilled in scheduling, staffing, and coordinating daily operational activities in a 24-hour environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and maintenance software to track tasks and support operations.
- Able to remain flexible, prioritize effectively, and respond to changing operational needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in environmental services, custodial operations, housekeeping, or internal maintenance required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, direct staff performance, and uphold cleanliness standards in a 24/7 facility.
- Valid California driver's license and insurability required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a casino, hotel, healthcare, or similar operational environment preferred.
- Familiarity with maintenance or work order tracking software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department, ensuring consistent cleaning and maintenance of all public, back-of-house, and operational areas.
- Supervise EVS staff across all shifts, providing direction, support, and performance oversight to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly staff schedules; ensure adequate coverage for all operational zones based on business volume and departmental priorities.
- Monitor cleanliness standards and perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with health codes, safety protocols, and internal service expectations.
- Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to establish priorities, track progress, and resolve issues related to cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation.
- Support the onboarding and training of new staff; reinforce proper cleaning procedures, safety practices, and equipment use.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment; initiate restocking or repairs as needed to maintain readiness.
- Maintain accurate records related to daily activity, inspections, staff performance, and incident reports.
- Assist with vendor coordination for contracted services as needed.
- Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to ensure seamless operational support and communication.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
