About The Position

The Ropes Course Operator at The Strong Museum is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of visitors. This full-time position involves operating the ropes course and may include training in various museum exhibits. The role requires a friendly and approachable individual who is dedicated to enhancing the guest experience and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment throughout the museum.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or CDOS; must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform a full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a customer service role, particularly in a museum or similar environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline exceptional visitor service and respond to guest inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness of the museum according to established standards, including vacuuming, cleaning furniture, and disposing of trash.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as carpet extractors and floor buffers.
• Assist in the setup and takedown of museum events and food service.
• Report to work on time and wear a clean uniform and required PPE.
• Follow safety and health requirements as per OSHA standards.
• Participate in environmental services team meetings and assist in training staff as needed.
• Perform follow-up inspections on completed job assignments and report findings to the Facilities Supervisor.
