About The Position

The EVS/Laundry Per Diem will be required to work in the Environmental Services and Laundry departments as needed. The EVS/Laundry Per Diem will be responsible for the specific tasks and duties assigned to them while in each department. Duties will include, but are not limited to maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital when assigned to Environmental Services; maintaining a sufficient supply of hygienically clean linen when assigned to Laundry. This position is directly responsible to the Environmental Services Manager. The incumbent will work closely with and take direction from the Environmental Services Manager and Assistant Manager. They will also work closely with hospital district leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Knowledge of: The Mission, Vision, and Values of Northern Inyo Healthcare District;
• Knowledge of: NIHD policies and procedures, including Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and Confidentiality standards;
• Must be able to understand, read and write English clearly
• Basic Computer Skills including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with NIHD staff and the public;
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with NIHD staff at all levels as well as the public;
• Ability to develop and maintain a high degree of maturity, integrity, and good judgement.
• Lifting or carrying (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
• Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
• Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalence

Nice To Haves

• Cleaning and laundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe environment for patients, staff, self and visitors.
• Responds promptly to requests for assistance for special cleaning needs.
• Utilizes work time appropriately, completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Works well independently; consistently meets performance standards without need of close supervision.
• Assist other laundry employees with collecting, cleaning, drying, folding and delivering of linen.
• Learn how to safely operate all the various laundry machinery.
• Assist other laundry employees in maintaining a clean and safe working environment on a daily basis.
