About The Position

Marana Health is seeking an Environmental Services Job Coach to join the Behavioral Health team at the Marana Main Health Center and the Z Mansion The Environmental Services Job Coach supports individuals with disabilities in gaining and maintaining employment in the environmental services field. This role focuses primarily on assisting Environmental Services Cleaners and Day Porters at Marana Health facilities by providing training and hands-on coaching to help them meet the cleanliness and safety control standards required in a healthcare setting. The Job Coach helps participants build the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary for success in their roles, while also partnering with colleagues to promote inclusive and supportive work environments. Ongoing guidance, progress monitoring, and advocacy are key components of this role to ensure long-term job retention and career development for each participant. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals certification (obtained prior to start date)
  • First Aid certification (may be completed with Marana Health upon hire)
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (must be verified as "valid" prior to start date)
  • Current Arizona driver's license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by Marana Health)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with a focus on building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy
  • Proficiency with computers and basic software
  • Knowledge of State ACC and RBHA requirements
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze the employment barriers of trainees
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare-specific environmental services standards, including infection control, OSHA requirements, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to model and train others on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning protocols, and equipment handling per healthcare regulations.
  • Understanding of SOS (Safety Data Sheets), OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard, and infection prevention best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years' experience in behavioral health or related social services, specifically providing rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities
  • Associate degree in social services, business, or related field
  • Experience working with the State AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) and Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) clients
  • Previous experience in maintenance, janitorial, or landscaping services
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and training to trainees in environmental services, including janitorial tasks, general maintenance, and landscaping duties.
  • Establish rapport with trainees and clearly communicate expectations based on their interests, abilities, and Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Adapt training sessions to meet the specific needs of each trainee, ensuring they can achieve their goals.
  • Conduct assessments to identify trainee strengths, barriers to employment, and support needed for success.
  • Assist with identifying potential job placements for trainees within the environmental services field.
  • Maintain effective communication with managers and Employment Service Supervisors regarding program progress and facility needs.
  • Provide on-site coaching to trainees to ensure proper job performance, safety, and quality of work.
  • Ensure all work practices comply with Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) regulations, local health and safety codes, and company policies.
  • Participate in the scheduling of trainees to ensure staffing levels are maintained at all times.
  • Address concerns and questions from trainees or clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Respond to crisis situations appropriately to ensure a safe working environment for trainees.
  • Assist with the operational flow and provide coverage when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of job performance, incidents, and trainee progress in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members and partner organizations to promote growth and development.
  • Provide mentorship and real-time coaching to EVS Cleaners and Day Porters to build skills, increase confidence, and improve retention.
  • Ensure trainees understand and consistently apply Marana Health's cleaning protocols, response procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with Facilities Managers and Site Supervisors to assess training needs, evaluate job performance, and coordinate support for EVS staff.
  • Document and communicate trainee progress, challenges, and accommodations needed for success.
