About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in patient and resident areas, ensuring compliance with health standards and infection control protocols. This role involves various cleaning tasks and the use of specialized equipment to provide a safe space for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, methods, and chemicals is beneficial.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
  • Empty waste baskets and clean floors using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes in a healthcare environment.
  • Ensure proper use of protective equipment and maintain cleanliness of storage and equipment areas.
  • Assist in laundry areas as needed and use technology applications when required.
  • Perform physical activities including lifting, climbing, and moving materials as necessary.
