The Environmental Services (EVS) Coordinator is a frontline leader who partners with the EVS Director to ensure efficient daily operations, clear communication, and accountability across the department. Serving as a central point of contact for staff, residents, and other departments, the EVS Coordinator balances workloads, upholds service standards, and supports a positive team culture.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years housekeeping/laundry service or related field experience.
  • Prior experience serving as a lead, trainer, or supervisor is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality environments is desirable.
  • Additional training or certification in environmental services, healthcare environmental management, or related areas is considered a plus.
  • Strong judgment, common sense, and decision-making skills; maintains confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and techniques quickly.
  • Highly organized and able to manage priorities independently.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with staff, residents, families, visitors, and outside agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with residents and co-workers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and supports inspections of work performed by EVS Techs and Janitors.
  • Assists with staffing coverage and daily scheduling, and assigns and adjusts work based on operational needs.
  • Communicates census, shift notes, and schedule updates.
  • Acts as a consistent point of contact for staff needs and concerns; monitors team morale and provides ongoing staff support.
  • Collects and escalates supply and equipment requests.
  • Tracks room completions and upcoming areas due for deep cleans or move-in cleans.
  • Supports the creation and implementation of SOPs across shifts and buildings.
