About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department. This role promotes sanitary conditions, which prevents the spread of infection and odors. The associate demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment, and tools. They perform all cleaning and project assignments within their area of responsibility or as directed by a supervisor. The associate is responsible for maintaining equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating conditions. They must respond rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, and spills. Good judgment is required while working around patients and visitors. This is a part-time, day shift position with an every other weekend commitment at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA, a 178-bed teaching hospital.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalency

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department

• Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools
• Performs all cleaning and project assignments within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor
• Maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in clean, orderly and good operating conditions
• Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc.
• Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors
• Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday
