Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
• No contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in patient discharge and on-call rooms according to cleaning protocols.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment per established procedures.
• Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues; report concerns to the supervisor.
• Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap to ensure adequate supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of assigned cleaning equipment; report issues as needed.
• Remove trash from all designated areas promptly and safely.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Move and arrange furniture, equipment, and boxes as directed.
• Wash walls and spot-clean carpets as assigned.
• Communicate suggestions for improvements or concerns to the supervisor.
