About The Position

Union Hospital – Cecil Campus is seeking an experienced and service‑driven Environmental Services Assistant IV – Team Lead to support a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. As a Team Lead, you will guide and support Environmental Services personnel, ensure quality standards are met, and help maintain a safe and efficient workflow across assigned areas. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of housekeeping or environmental services experience required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift and walk with up to 40 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership for Environmental Services staff, including Service Assistant I, II, and III team members.
  • Offer interim supervision in the absence of the department Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, safety requirements, and cleaning standards.
  • Communicate operational updates effectively across shifts.
  • Adjust daily staffing and assignments to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Inspect assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to schedules.
  • Respond promptly to requests, service calls, and Environmental Services texts.
  • Perform daily environmental rounds—including weekends and holidays.
  • Submit and follow up on maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Assist with training, orientation, and coaching of new and existing team members.
  • Support quality control and preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Maintain clean and organized EVS closets, service carts, equipment, and soiled rooms.
  • Complete daily shift reports and maintain strong customer service relationships across the hospital.
