Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services (Team Lead, Supervisor and Manager) and other departments within Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM – 11:30PM, including every 3rd weekend and 2 holidays per year.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in various areas, including inpatient rooms, discharge rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms and surgical areas.
  • Perform cleaning tasks using appropriate cleaning products, including wiping down surfaces and cleaning spills.
  • Meet organizational expectations on patient experience (HCAHPS) and patient access (total cycle time) metrics within inpatient and discharge scope.
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in inpatient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms as necessary.
  • Inform team leader and supervisory team when supplies are low.
  • Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
  • Frequently interact with patients while completing daily responsibilities.
  • Complete six months of on-the-job training to learn developmental polices and procedures, various cleaning techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
