Summary: Cleans and disinfects areas of hospital and health centers using prescribed methods. Performs wide variety of special project and building care procedures, such as; Scrubbing, buffing, stripping and refinishing floors, shampooing and/or extracting carpets and upholstery, hanging/fire retarding/treating curtains, maintaining project equipment, etc.
Requirements
- Ability to read and correctly interpret work assignments.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- Ability to determine when to yield to medical professionals.
- Ability to withstand emotional pressures associated within the medical setting.
- Ability to be on feet most of shift.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, stoop and reach.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Adequate vision.
- No significant allergy to dust or cleaning supplies.
- Must be able to work in presence of other employees, patients and visitors of the Hospital.
- May be exposed to hazardous waste and/or body fluids.
- Ability to work with floor strippers and other harsh chemical fumes.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to withstand equipment heat and noise.
