Summary Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Related experience 0-1 year preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
- Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning duties in alignment with organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.
- Completes waste stream removal.
- Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
- Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout medical center departments and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary environment.
- Operates assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
- Participates in a minimum of eight unit or department meetings annually.
- Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
