About The Position

The Associate Scientist at UMIAQ Environmental, LLC plays a crucial role in providing project management and support for various environmental consulting projects. Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Hydrology, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or other Natural Science.
• At least 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or engineering.
• Meet the requirements of an Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Qualified Environmental Professional.
• Knowledge of Alaska environmental regulations and federal regulations such as RCRA, CERCLA, and OSHA.
• Experience sampling soil, groundwater, and other media at contaminated sites.
• Experience in hazardous waste and hazardous materials management.
• Experience with environmental remediation technologies.
• Experience on federal projects (HTRW, TERC, AFCEE, etc.).
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel required.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced computer skills: Access, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, gINT, MS Project.
• Experience preparing SPCC Plans and SWPPPs.
• Experience with planning, logistics, and field work in remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and support for environmental consulting projects.
• Conduct Phase I, II, & III Environmental Site Assessments.
• Review, evaluate, and interpret environmental data and prepare summary reports.
• Interact and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
