About The Position

We are SpecPro Sustainment & Environmental, LLC (SSE), a government contracting and consulting firm supporting several military installations and federal agencies across the U.S. SSE is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Journeyman Environmental Scientist-Junior to join our team, providing proactive logistical support to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Environmental Management Directorate (CZ) and Environmental Quality (CZQ) to include maintaining Division folders and distribution lists, performing quality assurance (QA) & quality control (QC) and proofreading deliverables, performing comprehensive meeting support, and supporting timekeeping and travel for CZQ personnel. This position is located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX. What You'll Do: AFCEC/CZQ Media Panel Support - The contractor shall support the AFCEC with media panel support and associated working groups, tiger teams and workshops for Integration, Air, Hazardous Materials/Hazardous Waste, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, Overseas, and Solid Waste. Support includes providing subject matter engineering and environmental science support for each Media Panel SME. Outreach and Data Collection - The contractor shall contact the list of Panel participants to obtain input for topics and items of interest for the meeting. The contractor shall maintain an up-to-date membership listing. The contractor shall assemble required supporting documentation for the meeting. The contractor shall provide phone and/or email responses to the Government as required to troubleshoot emerging meeting issues. Meeting Support - The contractor shall coordinate meeting announcements with each Media Panel SME. The contractor shall facilitate the meeting to include coordinating onsite meeting support, management of Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) and conference line numbers. The contractor shall provide on-site logistical support during the meetings. The contractor shall locate/retrieve records and provide documentation requested by each Media Panel SME. The contractor shall promptly and accurately draft meeting minutes and assemble required documentation for each Media Panel. The contractor shall facilitate meeting minute adjudication for each Media Panel. The contractor shall provide this support even though some media panel meeting times may overlap. Records Management - The contractor shall assist in records management for each Media panel such as, posting minutes on eDASH and updating appropriate environmental action plan (EAP). What You Bring: Key Qualifications U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance (NACI) is required

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required. Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Performs work that requires practical experience and training. Work is performed under supervision.
  • BA/BS in environmental, biology, health, science, math or engineering
  • Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone

Nice To Haves
