About The Position

An Environmental Scientist Intern assists the Environmental Team with environmental compliance activities. Corporate housing in Carlsbad, NM will be provided for the Intrepid internship program.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Actively pursuing a degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• One to two years related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to be comfortable in both surface and underground industrial operations (ex: going underground, climbing stairs on surface, etc.).
• Knowledge of MSHA and/or OSHA regulations is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communications required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite PC software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of environmental tasks, including air and water quality monitoring, site based environmental compliance inspections, proper control/disposal of hazardous materials, data organization and interpretation.
• Maintain various records related to permit requirements.
• Observe all safety and company rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
