Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental or Geologic Engineering, Environmental/Earth Science, Environmental Chemistry, or similar discipline
  • Minimum 2 years-experience in consulting or other government agency to be considered at Senior Scientist/Engineer position
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating the fate, transport, and chemical transformations of organic and inorganic contaminants
  • Conducting field sampling and coordinating laboratory analysis of soil, water, and/or air samples
  • Supporting human health and ecological risk assessments
  • Technically reviewing and summarizing documents (e.g., historical operations, environmental reports, regulations, permits, agency correspondence, testimony) to support environmental litigation matters
  • Preparing technical memoranda, portions of expert reports, and presentations
  • Collaboratively supporting multidisciplinary teams in the Environmental and Earth Sciences and other Exponent practices on exciting and challenging projects
  • Providing support to clients and to your team in Exponent's Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice
  • Investing in your professional development
  • Attending conference presentations and participating in journal publications
  • Expanding your professional visibility
  • Developing client relationships
  • Assisting with Exponent's business development efforts
