About The Position

TRC is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join their Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in New York City. The role involves environmental due diligence, site investigation, and remediation implementation, providing a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field.
  • 0 to 2 years of environmental consulting experience with a focus on environmental due diligence, field investigations, and sampling.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER and 10-hr Construction certification would be a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Demonstrates excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, and professional judgment.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and work ethic, with a desire for career growth.
  • Strong quality assurance/quality control skills and detail-oriented to perform technical reviews.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple project assignments.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to environmental consulting work in New York City is a plus.
  • Ability to work on long-term field assignments in the New York City area.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Community Air Monitoring Plans for long-term field projects.
  • Coordinate and provide oversight and direction to subcontractors including remedial contractors, drillers, geophysical surveyors, and analytical laboratories.
  • Implement site investigation/characterization and remedial action work plans, including collection of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, and surface water samples.
  • Log soil characteristics utilizing a standardized soil classification system and prepare daily field activity reports.
  • Prepare associated reports, including report text, supporting field documentation, and review laboratory analytical reports.
  • Accurate and timely completion of expense reports.
  • Support the New York City Environmental Due Diligence group, including performance of Phase I ESAs and Phase II ESIs.
  • Prepare Community Air Monitoring Plans and Health and Safety Plans.
