About The Position
Environmental Scientists perform program research, planning and development, permitting, compliance monitoring, inspections/enforcement, and technical support services in relation to air, water, waste, federal facilities, corrective action, mining, biology and other environmental programs. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. The Bureau of Sustainable Materials Management (BSMM) currently has a vacant Environmental Scientist 1 underfill for Environmental Scientist 3 position in the Sustainability Branch in the Reno NDEP office. This position will contribute to the BSMM's mission and will play a vital role in the education and outreach opportunities for the Bureau. This position will disseminate program information, participate in field and classroom events, reply to media requests in conjunction with the Department Public Information Officer, update the bureau website and social media, and lead formal discussion groups.
