About The Position

RSI is recruiting for an Environmental Sampler - Rocky Flats Site who is responsible for implementation of site-specific sampling programs. A Sampler will assist primarily with groundwater well sampling and also in the operations and maintenance of the site and sample prep room related to sampling programs and other site-specific operations. The position involves implementation of scope under limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or science-related field.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to learn technical knowledge of well sampling equipment and groundwater concepts.
  • Ability to gain understanding of site institutional controls, LTS plans and procedures, and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support Operations Lead and Groundwater (GW) Lead with environmental monitoring work scope.
  • Development and implementation of sample plans and QAPPs, data entry, data QC/QA, and reporting.
  • Support Operations Lead and GW Lead with long-term surveillance (LTS) plan work scope.
  • Management of institutional controls and reporting.
  • Assist other field staff when needed (surface water sampling, treatment system operations, etc.).
  • Maintain and repair groundwater monitoring wells, environmental monitoring tools, equipment, and instruments to ensure proper function.
  • Calibrate equipment and order supplies (includes receipt inspections).
  • Conduct groundskeeping as needed to ensure safe access to field locations.
  • Ensure the equipment storage areas and sample prep room are well maintained, keep orderly and stocked with the required supplies.
  • Keep current with all required training.
  • Manage records in accordance with Information Management requirements.
  • Lead sampling teams on site and ensure safe and efficient sampling events.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
