The Environmental Protection Specialist is responsible for advising on, managing, and performing activities related to environmental protection programs. This includes areas such as air and water quality, storage tanks, hazardous waste management, cultural and natural resources, and site restoration and remediation at the assigned location. The role requires conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards, and taking corrective actions as necessary. Building relationships with regulators and preparing permit applications and required documentation are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the specialist will prepare and manage support contracts, develop policies and operating guidance, coordinate on construction activities to consider environmental effects, and develop and execute a budget.
