About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Summer 2025 Intern to support the Environmental, Safety, and Health Engineering teams. This role focuses on utilizing advanced technology to enhance employee health and safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve sustainability goals. The intern will engage in identifying hazardous conditions, maintaining safety records, and participating in OSHA inspections, providing a unique opportunity to gain experience in a large corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical, Safety, Environmental Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial processes through coursework.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Identify hazardous workplace conditions and take preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances.
  • Remove hazards to protect employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standards.
  • Prepare and maintain all required records related to safety and health.
  • Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and follow procedures after citations.
  • Investigate, prepare, and forward reports on injuries and fatalities.
  • Engage in participative ergonomics.
