About The Position

The Environmental Remediation Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Noblis plays a crucial role in providing technical and program-level support to federal client organizations in the field of environmental engineering and remediation. This position involves evaluating environmental site conditions, developing remediation strategies, and ensuring the effective implementation of remediation technologies to address both emerging and legacy contaminants, particularly focusing on PFAS issues. The SME will collaborate with DoD managers to ensure that environmental remediation efforts align with program objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or equivalent field is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental remediation.
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience or PhD with 8 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Expertise in designing, constructing, and operating environmental remediation systems.
  • Deep understanding of remediation technologies, including PFAS destruction technologies.
  • Expertise in environmental engineering and PFAS issues impacting the DoD.
  • Experience evaluating and developing Conceptual Site Models and data gap analysis for complex restoration sites.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for candidates willing to be based in San Antonio when staff return to an office setting.
  • DoD and other Federal government experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating environmental site conditions and developing remediation strategies and technology approaches related to all contaminated media for emerging and legacy contaminants.
  • Developing design, construction, operation, and monitoring requirements for remediation systems.
  • Evaluating environmental remediation technology performance and determining recommended optimization improvements.
  • Developing, analyzing, and selecting remedial alternatives and exit strategies.
  • Writing technical reports of complex technical analysis.
  • Providing quality assurance oversight of program activities and work products.
  • Evaluating costs.
  • Providing technical/program level support, including development of execution strategies.
