The position involves reviewing permit applications, conducting field investigations, and preparing reports, permits, denials, and correspondence related to land and water use activities and statutes administered by the Water Resources Division's (WRD) Water Resources Program within assigned geographic areas. The role requires exercising judgment to apply and adapt knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations to specific situations. The statutes of the Water Resources Program administered by the WRD include various parts of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA), which cover areas such as Floodplain Regulatory Authority, Inland Lakes and Streams, Wetlands Protection, Shorelands Protection and Management, Great Lakes Submerged Lands, and Sand Dunes Protection and Management.
