The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Air (BOA), is seeking a motivated Environmental Protection Engineer I to join the Clean Air Act Permit Program (CAAPP) Construction Unit C. This entry‑level engineering role offers hands‑on training and experience in reviewing air permit applications for a wide range of operations and air pollution control systems. The selected candidate will also support BOA staff in conducting investigations, inspections, and monitoring activities for facilities regulated under the CAAPP Construction program. This position provides an excellent opportunity to build foundational engineering and regulatory skills while contributing to the protection of air quality in Illinois.
