About The Position

The Environmental Projects Construction Inspector role at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania involves overseeing civil and environmental construction projects within State Parks and Forests. This position is crucial for ensuring compliance with contract documents and regulations, thereby guaranteeing the safety and functionality of various facilities. The inspector will work primarily in western Pennsylvania, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and ensuring contractors adhere to these during construction.

Requirements

• Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, treatment plants, or highways.
• An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil and environmental construction projects for DCNR facilities.
• Ensure compliance with official contract documents and relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Interpret contract requirements through the review and analysis of technical drawings and specifications.
• Inspect various types of projects including foundations, bridges, pumping stations, buildings, roads, dams, marinas, and more.
• Collaborate with a Staff Engineer and form a Project Team under the guidance of the Regional Engineer.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
