About The Position

The Environmental Project Specialist is responsible for coordinating onsite activities related to the storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves supervising onsite personnel, serving as a liaison between clients and vendors, and maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or related field, or a High School Diploma/GED with two years of relevant work experience.
  • One year of relevant work experience in addition to the education requirement.
  • RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience preferred.
  • 24-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manifesting and profiling hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Customer-focused with an entrepreneurial skill set.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client sites.
  • Ensure compliance with client and government regulations through inspections and reporting.
  • Resolve service issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with client and vendor financial obligations, including invoicing and contracts.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained.
