About the position

The position involves conducting environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, material, and soil. The candidate will identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include preparing applicable permit applications, risk assessments, and technical documents such as proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, tank closure assessments, and storm water management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys.
• Sample, measure, and analyze air, water, material, and soil.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs.
• Prepare permit applications, risk assessments, and technical documents.
• Participate in pre-task planning and report safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of work for projects.
• Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
• Serve as a team leader in medium projects and mentor junior scientists/engineers.
• Perform scientific analyses on environmental projects.
• Attend on and off-site client meetings as needed.
• Implement technical requirements to complete client projects.
• Develop written proposals to clients for projects, including quality control review of proposals written by others.
• Evaluate environmental laboratory and field data and assemble in written reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field.
• 5 - 7 years' related experience.
• Certification in field of expertise.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
