About The Position

Ready to own your projects again? Earth Systems is seeking an Environmental Project Manager in Lantana, Florida for professionals who want more than a narrow slice of a massive org chart. If you’ve spent years managing fragments of projects at a large consulting firm and are ready to lead remediation work end-to-end — from investigation and permitting through construction, regulatory closure, and client delivery — this role gives you that seat at the table. You’ll manage technically complex petroleum and chlorinated solvent remediation projects, including port, coastal, and construction-adjacent work, with direct access to decision-makers, regulators, and clients. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for professionals who want autonomy, visibility, and real impact — without layers of approval slowing every decision.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, remediation, or environmental project management.
  • Experience managing petroleum and/or chlorinated solvent remediation sites.
  • Working knowledge of Florida DEP remediation programs; experience interfacing with EPA or federal regulatory frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, remediation plans, and regulatory closure documentation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER required.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or leading projects involving active construction, infrastructure, ports, coastal facilities, or redevelopment sites strongly preferred.
  • Professional licensure (PE, PG, or similar) preferred or on a licensure track.
  • Candidates with additional experience (8–10+ years), advanced technical leadership, or licensure will be considered for expanded responsibility and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental remediation projects involving petroleum and chlorinated solvents across active, complex sites.
  • Manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, site characterization, and feasibility evaluations.
  • Design, implement, and optimize remediation systems including AS/SVE, DPE, ISCO, metabolic enhancement, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Support and oversee construction-phase remediation, including excavation oversight, dewatering coordination, soil and groundwater handling, confirmatory sampling, and system installation.
  • Manage remediation projects associated with ports, terminals, coastal infrastructure, utilities, transportation corridors, and redevelopment sites.
  • Serve as primary technical liaison with Florida DEP (FDEP) and coordinate with EPA, water management districts, and local authorities as required.
  • Apply Florida’s risk-based cleanup framework (including Chapter 62-780 and Petroleum Restoration Program principles).
  • Prepare and manage environmental permits and regulatory submittals (air, water, SPCC, SWPPP, waste management).
  • Deliver regulatory closures including No Further Action (NFA) determinations, Site Rehabilitation Completion Orders (SRCOs), and institutional/environmental controls.
  • Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Track financial performance, manage change orders, and maintain project profitability.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, drillers, laboratories, and construction partners.
  • Ensure quality control, schedule adherence, and safety compliance across field activities.
  • Act as technical lead and decision-maker for assigned projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers, scientists, and field staff.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, safety, and senior leadership teams.
  • Support emergency response activities and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Support proposal development, scopes of work, and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Represent Earth Systems in meetings with regulators, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and professional development support.
