About The Position

Join us! Impact Environmental is a Long Island based environmental firm with 35 years of success specializing in Brownfield Redevelopment. We are in search of a Project Manager to be based from our Bohemia, NY office to lead New York projects. Candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of New York environmental consulting, engineering, geology, or environmental science experience. This position provides opportunities for personal and professional development by joining a growing team with a diverse private sector clientele, and to gain experience in many project types and sizes in all stages of brownfield assessment, investigation, remediation, and redevelopment.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience with a focus on applications of environmental investigations and remediation.
  • Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software.
  • Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in geology, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a similar scientific major.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, work product quality, teamwork, organizational skills, technical writing, and client service skills.
  • Willing to be based out of our Suffolk County Long Island office, with travel into New York City.
  • Willingness to take drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 40-hour (HAZWOPER) and/or OSHA 10-hour/30-hour (Construction Safety) certifications a plus.
  • Professional certification(s) or licenses a plus (CHMM, PG and/or PE).
  • Business development leads a plus.
  • Experience with software (Surfer, MODFLOW, AutoCAD, GIS) a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees diverse environmental projects with varied local, state (NY/NJ/CT) and federal regulatory drivers (i.e., City VCP, State Brownfields, RCRA, and Superfund).
  • Planning and directing environmental field observation and testing programs; including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
  • Supervises staff in order to complete deliverables including resource cost estimating, scheduling, report preparation, technical memorandums, and contracts/proposals.
  • Understand client needs and is able to develop strong client relationships.
  • Capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Reviews and/or drafts technical reports and letters with a focus on quality and meeting client and regulatory objectives.
  • Evaluates subsurface characteristics for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
  • Effective in assigning and managing work.
