About The Position

CREtelligent is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Director (EPD) to support the continued growth of their commercial environmental due diligence and project management team. This role is critical to supporting real estate transactions through the oversight of environmental due diligence, site investigations, and risk assessments. The EPD will work closely with the Environmental Professional (EP) team to review and approve environmental reports, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards across commercial real estate assets. At CREtelligent, they take a modern approach to environmental due diligence by combining advanced data and analytics with best-in-class technical report review practices. Their work empowers clients to make informed, proactive decisions with confidence. As part of the team, the EPD will collaborate within their proprietary platform, RADIUS, and engage directly with clients to deliver a comprehensive suite of environmental risk assessment products and services nationwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience conducting Phase I ESAs within the commercial real estate due diligence industry.
  • Direct client interaction experience, including presenting findings, addressing questions, and guiding next steps based on project scope.
  • Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting environmental field and laboratory data.
  • Proven experience in technical report writing with attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of a dynamic, professional environmental team.

Nice To Haves

  • Dual-scope experience (Phase I ESAs and PCAs).
  • Experience reviewing PCA reports.
  • Professional licensure such as Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD ESA standards.
  • 2+ years of direct client interaction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior reviewer for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Serve as the senior reviewer for Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) if dual-scope experience is present.
  • Occasionally conduct site assessments in your local market.
  • Be the senior level technical reviewer, responsible for reviewing and approving reports.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in both internal team collaboration and client-facing interactions.
  • Lead with deep expertise in commercial real estate due diligence.
  • Synthesize diverse data sets to develop comprehensive client deliverables.
  • Provide final conclusions and professional opinions as the designated Environmental Professional (EP).
  • Operate independently with strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects simultaneously.
  • Serve as a key contributor within the environmental team, with the capability to immediately step into project management responsibilities.
