The Environmental Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating environmental projects funded by grants. This role involves overseeing project designs, construction, and compliance with grant requirements, while ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently.

  • Manages environmental projects in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates the activities of consultants, contractors, and applicable parties.
  • Provides guidance related to project creation, construction, scheduling, and other related issues.
  • Reviews and evaluates design and engineering plans, specifications, GIS maps, reports, and grant requirements.
  • Prepares reports for assigned projects and ensures compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Responds to requests for information from the public and other governmental agencies.
  • Oversees the administration of contracts and grant agreements for environmental projects.
  • Performs project inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Prepares for and participates in regular meetings related to assigned projects.
  • Reviews cost estimates and quantity take-offs for design projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Natural Resources, Engineering, or Construction.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in area of specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of environmental restoration principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with construction standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and statutes.
  • Understanding of RESTORE ACT requirements and grant management.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of reports and documents, including GIS maps.
  • Skills in reading and interpreting plans, sketches, maps, and construction documents.
  • Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Research skills and proficiency in GIS, CADD, and database management.
  • Experience in environmental project management.
  • Familiarity with grant reporting and compliance processes.
