This position is located in the Air Quality Division - Monitoring West Section in Oklahoma City. All applicants must be able to pass a background check and must be able to legally work within the United States. DEQ does not allow sponsorships. The Air Monitoring Sections collect air pollution data from a network of over 30 monitoring sites in Oklahoma. These sites capture detailed pollution information, including air toxics data, using electronic monitoring equipment. These data are submitted to the national EPA Air Quality System (AQS) database and are used to compare to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), to determine whether these standards are attained. This position will be responsible for operation and maintenance of assigned ambient air monitoring sites and equipment and reports to the Environmental Programs Manager of the Monitoring West Section in the Air Quality Division. Additional responsibilities include extensive data analysis, routine data reporting, drafting of technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and providing technical assistance.
